China Telecom Corp has awarded ZTE an exclusive contract to build it a nationwide fixed line voice network. According to officials at ZTE, the new network will cover 30 provinces in China and will connect China Telecom’s local exchanges using next-generation technology to improve the quality of long-distance calls and provide capacity for new value-added services.The value of the deal was not disclosed.
