Kuwait’s MTC and Saudi Telecom Company failed to participate in a pre-bid conference for the Pakistan Telecommunications Company (PTCL) stake sale held last week, sparking speculation that they have pulled out of the process, but PTCL has dismissed these rumours, saying that none of the interested firms have pulled out. The tender is due to take place on 10 June, much to the anger of workers at the telco, who have been striking against the privatisation.
