Italian corporate communications provider Albacom has selected technology developer Italtel to implement a network transformation programme to enable it to offer VoIP services. Italtel will deploy a solution based on its iMSS (Italtel Multi Service Solution) softswitch platform with Cisco Systems’ voice gateways and an MPLS voice backbone. Albacom, recently acquired by BT, will utilise the new network to provide cost effective broadband services to small and medium-sized businesses.
