T3 to provide rural services in Ugu region

24 Feb 2005

Thinta Thinta Telecoms (T3) has inked a deal with MTN to use the latter’s network to provide telecoms services in the Ugu region of KwaZulu-Natal. T3, one of the holders of an underserviced area licence (USAL) in South Africa, will roll out services in two phases: a GSM service will go live in April followed by broadband later in the year. In accordance with the terms of its licence award, T3 will also roll out its own network infrastructure over the next three years.
