Government awards WiBro licences

The South Korean government has awarded three wireless broadband (WiBro) licences to KT Corp, SK Telecom and Hanaro Telecom, enabling them to provide customers with high-speed WiBro services based on the 2.3Ghz spectrum band. The three winners were the only operators to submit bids.
