A survey of South African businesses has found that voice-over-IP (VoIP) use is expected to see a boom in 2005. The research firm World Wide Worx surveyed 100 corporations and found that 78% were either already using VoIP or planning to introduce it this year. In a poll conducted at the same time last year just 31% of businesses showed an interest in the service. South African legislation is being amended from 1 February to allow corporations to use VoIP for all calls rather than just intra-company calls.
