BT to become first MVNO to sell Blackberry

15 Nov 2004

UK giant BT Group has signed an agreement with Research in Motion to sell the latter’s Blackberry wireless solution in Europe. The deal will make BT the first mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) to sell the solution; it plans to target its corporate customer base in a bid to replicate its success in the business market in its mobile operations. Blackberry provides customers with secure, always-on access to their corporate e-mail and data via their mobile handset; the Blackberry Enterprise Server software integrates with Microsoft Exchange or IBM Lotus Domino. BT will initially offer the service over the Blackberry 7230 and 7730 handsets.
