Honduran fixed wireless operator Multifon has begun installing the first of 50,000 new lines under the auspices of the government’s Telephony for All franchise programme. Using fixed wireless access technology, Multifon will roll out the lines to twelve neighbourhoods in the capital Tegucigalpa. It plans to expand to other cities in coming months and to have installed 100,000 lines by the end of 2005.
