C&W buys Bulldog

28 May 2004

Cable & Wireless (C&W) has acquired British broadband provider Bulldog Communications for GBP18.6 million. Bulldog is one of the few UK alternative providers to have invested in local loop unbundling (LLU), having installed its own equipment at 38 BT exchanges. It also offers DSL services via wholesale agreements with BT. According to C&W CEO Francisco Caio the acquisition of Bulldog will accelerate his company’s ability to deliver directly connected DSL solutions to existing and potential customers.
