Filipino mobile operator Smart Communications has selected Empower Interactive to provide infrastructure support to cater for the rising demand for SMS services. The cellco is deploying Empower’s carrier-grade message delivery platform (MDP), offering capacity for an additional 2,000 messages per second at launch. Smart has around 12.9 million subscribers in one of the world’s most active SMS markets. Each subscriber sends an average ten messages every day.
