Internet service provider Tiscali has contracted broadband infrastructure supplier Redback Networks to deploy its SmartEdge 800 Service Gateway platform, in order to be able to offer MPLS-VPN services to business customers and DSL services to residential subscribers across Europe. The Redback system will enable Tiscali to offer business and consumer services from a single platform. Tiscali currently has over a million ADSL subscribers, and claims to be adding around 35,000 new users every week.
