India’s mobile revolution is continuing apace with 1.37 million new subscribers taking up GSM wireless services in January, according to the latest figures released by the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI). There were 23.36 million GSM users in India at the end of January. The largest GSM operator is Bharti Cellular (5.86 million), ahead of BSNL (4.89 million) and Hutchison Telecom (4.46 million); Reliance Infocomm, Idea Cellular, BPL Mobile and Tata Teleservices shared a further 5.39 million between them.
