A report published by EMC World Cellular Database has revealed that GSM is the fastest growing technology in the Americas, with an overall growth rate of 89% in the year to the end of September 2003. Latin America has shown the highest growth – 146% in the same period, compared with 29% and 16% growth rates for CDMA and TDMA respectively – while the US and Canada reported growth of 66%.
