Canadian telco BCE has posted a third quarter 2003 profit of CAD467 million (USD357 million), up from CAD369 million twelve months earlier. The operator has put the increase down to its acquisition of the 20% in Bell Canada that it didn’t already own, taking its ownership to 100%. Shares in BCE rose by 45 cents in the three-month period to CAD29.45 on the Toronto Stock Exchange, while revenues increased by CAD167 million to CAD4.8 billion, of which wireless revenues accounted for CAD661 million. Its wireless customer base grew by 124,000 customers to 4.2 million, while DSL subscribers increased by 104,000 to 1.39 million.
