KPN is lowering the amount of money it pays to its top executives. The move is part of a wider political situation in the country advocating wage restraint and could result in several possible changes: the Central Ondernemingsraad (COR, employees council) would have access to proposed payment policy changes; and the Chairman of the KPN Board, Ad Scheepbouwer, would give up his right to receive financial benefits when and if KPN is taken over.
