Global Internet Traffic Grows 115 Percent
According to the latest statistics published in TeleGeography's Global Internet Geography research service, worldwide cross-border Internet traffic grew 115 percent in the 12 months preceding mid-2004. Traffic grew over 400 percent on intra-Asian routes, outpacing all other regions by a significant margin.
This new data is presented as part of a completely updated Global Internet Geography, which will be available in early August as either an updated online subscription service or as a 384 page printed report. Key features include:
- Traffic by geography: 45 cities, 60 routes, and 45 countries
- Traffic by application: Web/P2P/email/VoIP
- Route bandwidth: 65 countries and 381 routes
- City bandwidth: Top hubs and connectivity by region
