Enterprise Network Pricing Service

pdfQ3 2006 Market Analysis

This briefing provides an overview of findings from the Enterprise Network Pricing Service. The accompanying spreadsheets include the following files:

Excel1. Q3 06 IP VPN.xls. This spreadsheet offers MPLS Network IP VPN pricing data in 54 cities.
The spreadsheet includes two types of pricing data:

  • Detailed Port Charges. Prices reflect 10 different port sizes (ranging from 64 Kbps to 155 Mbps), 54 different cities, and three different Classes of Service (CoS). Prices are presented both as a summary across all carriers in a region, and individually by carrier. All port prices included are exclusive of local access and management fees.
  • Benchmark Network Pricing. The study will also review benchmark networks that include local access, management fees, and equipment rental in order to put portprices into the context of total cost of ownership.

Excel2. Q3 06 DIA.xls. This spreadsheet offers Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) pricing data for port and capacity charges on a city-by-city basis for corporate Internet connections between 64 Kbps and GigE.

Excel3. Q3 06 IPL.xls. This spreadsheet provides retail International Private Line (IPL) prices for full-circuit, city-to-city circuits between major business capitals around the world. Also included are average prices for capacity increments between 64 Kbps and 155 Mbps on more than 75 routes.

Excel4. Q3 06 Carrier Details.xls. This spreadsheet highlights each of the surveyed carriers’ discount structures, Class of Service premiums, service coverage by city, and product characteristics.

This comprehensive analysis will deliver insight into the overall market for MPLS Network IP VPN, DIA, and IPL services in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Latin America. Investigations will look at typical network pricing structures, levels of customer interest, leading service providers, and varying conditions across markets. In this first iteration, TeleGeography Research worked with 12 global and major pan-regional carriers to compile pricing and product information. All service providers are facilities-based with their own backbone networks.

TeleGeography’s Enterprise Network Pricing Service subscribers will receive quarterly pricing and market updates. As the number of participating global and regional service providers increases, the data sets and analysis will demonstrate comprehensive market trends and best market practices. Subscribers will also be entitled to up to 10 hours of Analyst Inquiry Time with the standard subscription.
