Internet services boost Cesky Telecom

Telefónica’s subsidiary in the Czech Republic has reported revenues of CZK45.2 billion for the first nine months of 2005, down 3% on the same period last year. While Cesky Telecom’s wireline telephony division saw sales drop 8% to CZK24 billion, data and internet service revenues climbed 23% to CZK3.3 billion. Sales at its Eurotel cellular subsidiary were up just 1% to CZK22.2 billion. Eurotel had 4.49 million subscribers at the end of September. The telco said consolidated net profit for the nine-month period was up 6% to CZK4.8 billion.
