Global Crossing seals SENT deal

Global Crossing has sealed a deal with a consortium of ten UK local authorities to provide voice services to 15,000 users across the southeast of the country. The Southeast Network for Telecommunications (SENT) has signed a four-year contract with the IP network operator for the provision of services to schools, parish councils and local authority offices across ten boroughs. SENT is led by the Bracknell Forest Borough Council, which says it expects the new deal to reduce its current telephony costs by 30%.
