IBM to upgrade Jordan Telecom infrastructure

Jordan Telecom has agreed a ‘multi-million dollar deal’ with IBM that it says will significantly reduce its office infrastructure requirements and help provide more advanced value-added services to its customers. IBM will oversee a project to consolidate Jordan Telecom’s infrastructure and provide new software and hardware for standards-based data warehousing, business intelligence solutions and a new intranet, as well as providing staff with new personal computers. It will upgrade Jordan Telecom’s existing UNIX servers with its eServer pSeries technology to manage increased data loads and provide performance, manageability and cost benefits.
