BSNL slashes broadband rates in two – but also cuts download limits

Indian state-owned telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has dropped subscription charges for its 256kbps internet service by 50%. Users of the ‘BSNL DataOne’ package, billed as a broadband service, will now pay INR250 (USD5.7) a month. However, the company has also reduced the monthly data download limit to 400MB, instead of 1GB.
