Vodafone Germany signs up nearly half a million customers in quarter

Vodafone Germany reported 497,000 net additions during the first quarter of its 2005/06 fiscal year, to bring its total to 27.72 million at the end of June, up 8.8% year-on-year. Its blended monthly ARPU decreased to EUR24.6 compared to EUR25.8 a year before. Non-voice services as a percentage of German revenue increased to 18.4% in the period, up from 17.4% at end-June last year, with data contributing 3.5% of turnover. The cellco reported over half a million 3G devices registered on its network at the end of the quarter, including 411,000 3G handsets and 117,000 data cards, representing an overall increase of 170,000 during the quarter.
