BenQ trials handset payment services

A consortium led by vendor BenQ has announced plans to begin trials of mobile phone payment services in Taiwan next month. BenQ is manufacturing phones with embedded integrated circuit chips allowing users to pay for goods with their handset instead of traditional credit or debit cards. The first stage of testing will be conducted by Taipei Smart Card Corp next month.
