Malaysia’s Redtone sets up Pakistan subsidiary

Malaysian discount call provider Redtone International has established a wholly owned subsidiary in Pakistan to offer domestic and international calls, data services and pre-paid cards for voice and fax services via public payphones. The new company, Redtone Telecommunications Pakistan, has been issued with a 20-year Long Distance and International (LDI) licence, and has already invested USD5 million in infrastructure to set up ten network points of presence in the country; it expects to complete its rollout in 14 designated telephony regions by mid-2005.
