Blackstone offer for New Skies is approved

Shareholders of New Skies Satellites have approved the sale of the company to affiliates of private investment firm the Blackstone Group for USD956 million in cash. New Skies’ Netherlands-based global satellite communications business will continue to operate under ownership by Blackstone. The transaction is expected to be completed by late-2004/early-2005.
