Vodafone bars adult content

UK cellco Vodafone has become the first mobile operator in the world to introduce a system barring its users from accessing pornographic mobile content. Under the initiative, which has been widely welcomed by safety watchdogs such as the Children’s Charities Coalition on Internet Safety, users who wish to access ‘adult content’ sites must pre-register with proof of their age. The UK’s other mobile operators are due to announce similar plans by the end of the year.
