Hanaro to capture long-distance and international market

South Korean fixed-line and broadband services provider Hanaro Telecom has announced plans to establish a significant presence in the long-distance and international markets by the end of the year. The operator received a licence to launch services in the two sectors from July this year, and plans to bundle local, long-distance and international services under the banner ‘Hanafone’. It currently holds around 4.8% of the local market and 23% of the broadband sector.
