Yahoo! and Lycos Europe sign cost-cutting deal

Yahoo! and Lycos Europe have signed a cooperation agreement to swap web chat and instant-messenger technologies in a bid to cut costs. Yahoo! will migrate its one million web chat users to Lycos Europe’s chat platform, while later this year Lycos will begin using Yahoo Instant Messenger as the sole technology for instant-massage services.
