Satellite W3A launched via Russian rocket

The European telecoms satellite W3A was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 04.06 local time today, taken into orbit by a Russian Proton-M rocket. The satellite was designed and built for Eutelsat by European satellite builder EADS Astrium, and will cover Europe and Africa for a minimum of 15 years.
