Spice Nepal to extend service coverage

The Himalayan Times reports that Nepalese mobile operator Spice Nepal (Mero Mobile) is extending its service coverage across the country. In a statement, the operator says it has already expanded its coverage to an extra 4.5 million people – equivalent to 16% of the population – while geographical coverage has been upped by 7.5%. As a result, at the end of September 2009 the operator’s network covered 60% of the Nepalese people and 22% of the land mass itself, while its actual subscriber base stood at 1.8 million users.
