Bharti Airtel Lanka signs up a million

Indian group Bharti Airtel’s Sri Lankan subsidiary announced yesterday that it has reached the milestone of one million mobile customers after launching commercial services in January this year. Bharti Airtel Lanka launched GSM/GPRS services as the fifth cellular provider on the island, and also rolled out 3G W-CDMA/HSDPA-based services in Colombo, Kandy and Galle.
