Telfort fined EUR5 million

Agentschap Telecom, the Dutch Radiocommunications Agency, has announced that it has fined mobile operator Telfort EUR5 million for failing to meet the coverage requirements of its 3G licence. The agency says that Telfort, now part of KPN, is under-utilising the spectrum and if it does not meet the concession requirements within three months it will be forced to pay a further EUR5 million.
