China Telecom employees ‘forced’ to subscribe to CDMA service to boost take-up

SinoCast Daily Business is reporting that all employees of China Telecom are required to sign up to its CDMA-based mobile network, in a move designed to boost its subscriber base. Wang Xiaochu, chairman and chief executive officer of China Telecom, says that his company hopes to raise the number of CDMA subscribers from 43 million to 100 million in the coming three years to give it a 15% market share.
