PTA announces formation of broadband study

Pakistani news source The News is reporting that the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has decided, in conjunction with broadband stakeholders, to form a group aimed at studying the aspects of service in the sector and suggesting measures to improve it. It is understood that one of the first areas of focus will cover the impact of taxes on growth in the telecom and ICT sectors, and results of the study may be taken up by the Ministry of Information Technology with other government bodies to eliminate or reduce taxes.
