Nortel to install VoIP network for C&W Cayman

Cable & Wireless Cayman Islands has awarded Canadian equipment manufacturer Nortel Networks a two-year, USD17 million contract to supply a voice over internet protocol (VoIP) network. The deal will increase the capacity of Cable & Wireless’ network in addition to adding centralised network management facilities for the delivery of the company’s convergent voice, data and internet offerings. In addition to the network equipment and services, the agreement includes a host of professional services such as network operation assistance and maintenance support.
