IFX goes Wi-Fi

Regional telco IFX is launching a wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) offering for business and residential users in Chile in the New Year. The firm hopes that along with its existing broadband internet access and VoIP products, Wi-Fi will be a key driver for growth in 2004. Miami-based IFX provides internet, long-distance, VoIP and VPN services in ten Latin American countries and in the US. It also hopes to enter the local telephony segment in each market, dependent on local regulatory regimes in force.
