Active mobile handsets top 43 million

The total number of active mobile phones in Brazil exceeded 43 million in November, according to telecoms regulator Anatel. 1.1 million new phones were registered in November alone with Anatel predicting that the total number of handsets will reach 46 million by year-end. Of the total, around 75% were pre-paid customers.
