SKT raises funds for service improvement in 2008
SK Telecom (SKT) has announced that it will increase the amount has set aside for service improvements in 2008 to KRW1.97 trillion (USD1.87 billion), reports Telecoms Korea. The bulk of the funds will be directed to raising the capacity of SKT’s W-CDMA network following an increase in subscribers to its 3G services; SKT had 11.25 million 3G customers at 30 June 2008. The cellco also intends to invest in its computer systems, working to make them compatible with those of its recent acquisition Hanaro Telecom.
