Fon on Zon

Portuguese cable TV operator Zon Multimedia has partnered with the Fon Wi-Fi community to launch the Zon@Fon free Wi-Fi service. Zon’s cable customers can host a Fon Wi-Fi hotspot from their home at no additional cost, with all Zon cable subscribers being offered free wireless internet access via these Fon access points. Fon currently has 2,500 such community hotspots in Portugal and is hoping to increase this to 100,000 thanks to deals with the likes of Zon Multimedia.
