ICE ponders purchase of more GSM lines to meet demand

State telecoms monopoly ICE is considering the acquisition of an additional 300,000 GSM lines to meet demand this year as the company's planned 3G deployment will not be ready until mid-2009, reports BNamericas. For the last few years demand has outstripped the supply of mobile lines in Costa Rica. In December ICE sold 310,884 of a total 340,000 GSM lines in the first week of sale alone.
