Motorola to reap rewards of cost-cutting

Following its reorganisation over the past three months, US equipment manufacturer Motorola has said that it expects to make annual cost savings of around USD100 million from 2004 onwards. The Illinois-based company has undertaken a series of job cuts in 2003, as well as consolidating a number of its administrative operations, the first fruits of which are expected to reduce costs by USD17 million in the final three months of the year.
