Sagem reports strong profits growth in Q3

The French equipment vendor Sagem Electronics has reported a dramatic increase in third-quarter net profit, to EUR35.4 million from EUR15.6 million for the same period in 2002. It attributed the rise in part to a one-off EUR10.6 million gain from the sale of its stake in smartcard manufacturer Gemplus International.
