Qwest to offer wholesale Gigabit Ethernet services

Qwest Communications International says it plans to offer wholesale customers Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) over Ethernet with speeds ranging from 2Gbps up to 10Gbps. The Denver-based telco said its decision to expand and upgrade its services came in the wake of a consultation process with the industry in which it surveyed its wholesale customers and carriers. The enhancement to its Gigabit Ethernet service will allow Qwest users to pay only for the bandwidth they need while increasing or decreasing network capacity dependent upon their needs.
