Four suitors for Telekom, says report
Turk Telekom, Telecom Italia, Hungary’s Magyar Telekom and Iceland’s Skipti are eyeing a state-held 49.13% stake in Slovenia’s former monopoly fixed line operator Telekom Slovenije, according to the Slovene Press Agency. Anonymous sources close to the privatisation were quoted by the report as saying that all four prospective buyers have taken out documents for the tender and are currently drawing up their bids. A government spokesperson issued a statement that: ‘the public will be duly notified after the term for the registration of prospective bidders expires [on 15 October]. The process so far may be assessed as successful.’
