VIP must fulfil promise or risk losing licence, says ministry

Macedonia’s third mobile licensee Mobilkom (VIP), owned by Mobilkom Austria, must fulfil its promise of offering prices significantly lower than existing operators, or face having its licence suspended, said a spokesperson for the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The ministry said that the main motive of the government in awarding a third licence was to lower the cost of mobile services. Mobilkom, when asked about the services and tariffs that VIP would offer, said that price was ‘not the most important thing’.
