Communications minister mulls issuing WiMAX tender

According to Israeli business daily Globes, Minister of Communications Ariel Atias is considering publishing a tender for WiMAX frequencies for the provision of wireless broadband services. The winners of the concessions will be those which guarantee the lowest service price for consumers over a five year period. Atias hopes the technology will create more competition for the cellular operators.
