Tata Group declines 26.1% option on VSNL

The Times of India is reporting that the Tata Group will not exercise a call option to buy the government's remaining 26.1% stake in VSNL, which expires today. Citing company sources, the newspaper reports that the group will instead seek to increase its 50.11% stake in VSNL by buying shares on the stock market.
