Forecast: heavy Cloud coverage across Europe

Wi-Fi operator The Cloud has unveiled plans to extend its network of city-wide Wi-Fi hotspots across Europe. According to the firm, its dedicated Metro Wi-Fi business unit, headquartered in Amsterdam, will roll out hotspots across more than 30 European cities over the next two years. The Cloud also announced municipal Wi-Fi agreements in Stuttgart, Germany and Karlskrona in Sweden. By 2008 it is estimated that there will be more than 160 million Wi-Fi-enabled devices in Western Europe, representing around a third of mobile consumers in the region.
