Vodafone expects 10% of group revenues from fixed lines by 2010

UK-based mobile group Vodafone has said it plans to source 10% of revenues from fixed line services within three to four years, as it looks to counter pricing pressures in the wireless market. Chief Executive Arun Sarin told an analyst briefing in Milan that mobile tariffs were falling by more than 10% annually and that Vodafone was focused on delivering new services, including internet access, and business and residential communication services, and reducing capital expenditure to combat this. He said the company is likely to announce further network sharing and outsourcing deals in coming months, as it looks to lower CAPEX.
