State-owned telecoms providers to be privatised

The Ministry of Post and Telematics (MPT) has said that state-owned enterprises offering telecoms services will be equitised in 2007. Firms such as Vinaphone, MobiFone and Viettel would need a formal strategy and business plan if they were to be privatised successfully, experts advised at a seminar on equitisation in Hanoi, where the announcement was made by Deputy Minister Tran Duc Lai.
